Rip Blu-ray to AVI>Step 1: Install and start up DVDFab Blu-ray Ripper

Download DVDFab Blu-ray Ripper freely and start up it, on the left panel of the main interface, "Blu-ray Ripper" option should be selected, then go to the mode of "to AVI".

Now you are under the "Blu-ray to AVI" mode, please insert your Blu-ray disc to Blu-ray drive, wait a while for DVDFab Blu-ray Ripper to load it in as source.

After Blu-ray movie is opened as source, all the movie titles show in a title list, you need to select one or more titles for conversion. Or if you have the need to convert only part of a title, click "Title Start/End Settings" to control where to start or end by chapters. Then go to "Profile" drop down list to choose a preset profile for each title. You can also select your favorite subtitles and audio tracks for output. By the way, DVDFab Blu-ray Ripper allows you to preview title in a built-in video player on the interface to let you avoid selecting mistakes.

1) Mobile Task Queue Settings

Click "Open Queue" on the main interface to open Mobile Task Queue window. Here, all the conversion tasks are unveiled clearly in front of you. If you want to convert a title with different profiles simultaneously, it's OK, you can achieve it here. Just highlight a task, click "Copy" button to produce a task copy under the queue, then click its profile to activate the profile drop-down, you can choose a different profile from it. Thus, a whole new task is added. If you want to remove a task, just highlight it too, then click "Remove" button. Note that "Delete" key on your keyboard can't virtually remove a task although it seems has.


2) Conversion Settings

Click "Conversion Settings" button to open Conversion Settings window. Here, you can set a lot of things for conversion. Such as bit rate, frame resolution, aspect ratio, frame rate, etc. for the video; and bit rate, volume and channel for the audio. You can also rename the file and title, decide whether or not to split title by chapter, and how to deal with the subpicture, etc. What's more, you can extract audio from video by "Audio Only" option if you want.


3) Video Effect Settings

You can set the output video effect to please you. Just click "Video Effect Settings" to enter, two options here: Resize and Crop.

Resize allows you to resize the frame resolution of the video.


Crop allows you to adjust the video by "Automatic" or "Customized" way. "Automatic" will cut off the black bars of the source video if there is any; while "Customized" will let you move the crop frame on the source video or set crop value respectively in the Top, Bottom, Left and Right box. Note that if you don't want to change the aspect ratio while cropping, just check "Keep Aspect Ratio"; and you can also reset your output from Letterbox to Pan&Scan.
