DVDFab Virtual Drive

DVDFab Virtual Drive is a virtual DVD/Blu-ray emulator. It emulates maximum 18 drives and works with

DVD/Blu-ray images created by DVDFab and other programs. DVDFab Virtual Drive is typically read-only,

being used to mount existing DVD/Blu-ray ISO images which are not modifiable by the virtual drive.

For example, to play a Blu-ray backup on PC with PowerDVD 8 and above, you need use DVDFab to backup the Blu-ray to an ISO image file, and use DVDFab Virtual Drive to mount it, then PowerDVD will play it.

DVDFab Virtual Drive is freeware, no cost at all.


Step 1) setup

The first thing to do is to download and install DVDFab Virtual Drive at http://www.dvdfab.cn/free.htm
After you download the installer of DVDFab Virtual Drive, our wizard will guide you through the installing



Step 2) Settings

Number of Drives: It allows you to set up as many as 18 virtual drives. You can specify the number by the check mark. This setting can be reseted depending on your needs.


Recently Used Images: This selection shown here gives quick access to ISOs that you may want to

remount or for other purposes. It also has controls to clear those images that no longer exist on your

system. If you select one of the recent used images, another dialog will open showing your drives and

asking which one you want to use to mount the image.


Once the program is set up, you can left click the icon for fast mounting or unmounting of images, including the option to unmount all current images.

The remaining menu list items are self explanatory. Your new DVDFab Virtual Drives should appear on the

input selectors of any software that plays or uses DVDs, Blu-ray discs.

Step 3) step-by-step guide


Here is a step-by-step example of using DVDFab Virtual Drive with PowerDVD, other players or applications

will work with the same procedure.

First of all, mount the ISO image file to one of your virtual drive.

There are several ways to accomplish this. You may right click on the ISO file itself, which will provide a

"Mount" option that will list the available virtual drives.

You may also right click on the DVDFab Virtual Drive icon in the system tray which will provide mount options for each drive.


Here we mount D:\DVDFab\TWILIGHT_SAGA_NEW_MOON.iso to Drive G.


Second of all, open PowerDVD with no discs in any optical drives. Click on the input source selector and

choose the virtual drive (Drive G) with mounted image (D:\DVDFab\TWILIGHT_SAGA_NEW_MOON.iso)

from the list. Click the play button to watch the movie.


You may change the virtual sources or mount new images during playback.
