Black Panther 2 Cast

The original Black Panther's king, T'Challa, and his wife, Nakia, return for a sequel that tackles the aftermath of The Snap. It also acknowledges the death of T'Challa's predecessor Chadwick Boseman, who died in 2020, and aims to explore how the Wakandan royal family deals with their grief.

Director Ryan Coogler's film is filled with great performances from the returning cast as well as new characters from other Marvel franchises. But it's the women who take center stage that really shine, and this movie does a fantastic job of making them the stars.

Story of Black Panther

The story of Black Panther takes place in the African nation of Wakanda. Long ago, a meteor containing vibranium crash-landed in Africa. Five tribes fought over it until one warrior ingested an herb that made him the Black Panther, giving him superhuman abilities. He united the tribes and created Wakanda, a technologically advanced society that has been hiding from the rest of the world for centuries.

T'Challa (Chadwick Boseman) is preparing to become king of Wakanda after his father T'Chaka (John Kani) dies, but he soon learns that an old enemy has returned to challenge him for the throne. Teaming up with the Dora Milaje, his little sister Shuri (Letitia Wright) and CIA agent Everett Ross, T'Challa must battle Killmonger to save his home country and its people.

As he and Okoye (Danai Gurira) fly over Nigeria in their jet, T'Challa notices mercenaries smuggling women and young men to be soldiers. T'Challa quickly jumps out of the plane and uses his Wakanda tech to disable the goons' vans. He catches up with Nakia (Lupita Nyong'o), who has been captured by the mercenaries, and together they return to Wakanda.

While they are in Wakanda, T'Challa learns that a new leader of the Jabari tribe, M'Baku (Winston Duke), has risen to power. Using the vibranium that killed his father, M'Baku wants to reclaim his power by selling Wakanda's vibranium to other nations. T'Challa and his Dora Milaje operatives track down M'Baku in order to prevent him from selling the vibranium to other countries.

Eventually, T'Challa returns to his palace, where he is reunited with his family, including his mother Ramonda (Angela Bassett) and his sister Shuri. He is surrounded by his tribesmen and his friends, but as he recovers from his injury, Killmonger challenges him again for the throne.

When T'Challa is finally able to take back the throne, he realizes that he must protect his nation from outside threats. This is a good time for a Black Panther comic book, as many readers are in the mood for something more action-oriented and political than previous stories.
