Can I convert DVD/Blu-ray title to MKV file without compression?
Yes, you can. You need select the "mkv.passthrough" profile to make the conversion. The resulting MKV file is identical with the original in size, aspect ratio, original bitrate, etc.
-
Which standard is the resulting DVD in, NTSC or PAL?
DVDFab does not change the video standard between NTSC and PAL.
If your original Blu-ray disc is in NTSC standard, then the converted DVD video will be in NTSC too.
If your original Blu-ray disc is of PAL standard, then you will get a converted DVD with PAL standard correspondingly.

How to play the converted 3D mkv/avi/mp4/wmv files?
There are 3 ways to playback these output 3D files:
1. PC + 3D video player software;
A compatible NVIDIA graphic card with the latest driver and 3D video players are required. We recommend NVIDA 3D Vision Video Player
http://www.nvidia.com/object/3d-vision-video-player-1.6.2-driver.html
and 3dtv.at player at http://www.3dtv.at/Downloads/Index_en.aspx
2. TV + 3D TV device;
Please make sure your TV support the transmission of 3D content, upgrade the firmware of set-top-box or change a superior replacement would be necessary. Also you need Red/Blue 3D glasses to watch 3D video.
3. 3D digital viewer (such as iPad which can playback avi, mkv, mp4... files only).
Getting 3D video playback on your iPad, you need to rip the original blu-ray 3D disc by DVDFab firstly, then sync the converted mkv/avi/mp4 files to your iPad. This will be the best popular way of Naked Eyes. We are working on this ripping feature for special devices, there are really much more surprise and benefits to look forward to.

What is Side by Side 3D?
In side-by-side 3D, a full 1080p or 720p frame consists of two halves on the left and right, with the
entire frame for the left eye scaled down horizontally to fit the left-half of the frame, and the entire
frame for the right eye scaled down horizontally to fit the right side of the frame. Thus, in the case
of 720p content (resolution of 1280 x 720), each frame will actually consist of the horizontally scaled
frame for the left eye with a resolution of 640 x 720 and adjacent to it, the corresponding frame for
the right eye at the same 640×720 resolution. When the 3D ready TV receives this side-by-side
3D signal, it splits each frame to extract the frame for each eye, and then rescales these individual
frames to a full HD resolution using upscaling algorithms. It then displays these upscaled individual
frames alternately in a frame-sequential manner that is in sync with your active shutter 3D glasses.
To sum up, it is just a method to deliver 3D content and also provides an excellent 3D viewing
experience.

How long will it take to copy or compress Blu-ray movies?
Normally, the resulting ripping process ranges from 45 minutes to 90 minutes, compression process ranges from 60 minutes to 150 minutes. That all depends on your computer configuration, the size of source blu-ray disc(bd50/bd25), the output target (bd25/bd5/bd9) you chose, compression involved or not, etc.
If you have NVIDIA or ATI's graphics card, which will make possible hardware acceleration when ripping/compressing blu-ray discs. CUDA and DXVA technology will enable you rip/compress Blu-rays in a much faster speed.
DVDFab integrated Intel Quick Sync technology in Blu-ray Copy make it a much faster video conversion. If you have DVDFab 8.0.9.6 Beta (or later version) installed on your computer, and you have supported hardware (Intel Sandy Bridge(SNB)CPU; Intel G45/GM45 Express Chipset; Intel HD Graphics) on your computer for Intel Quick Sync, then you can enable this high tech in DVDFab for a crazy fast conversion.
