Coming across a random, catchy song on the Internet and not being able to download can be devastating. While there are numerous YouTube to MP3 converters, DVDFab YouTube to MP3 Downloader allows you to download audio from 200+ websites. We’ve put together this tutorial to help you download YouTube to mp3 using DVDFab YouTube to MP3 Downloader.
First, head to DVDFab YouTube to MP3 website and download the right version for your computer or device. Currently, DVDFab YouTube to MP3 is only available for Windows, Mac, and Android users.
After successful installation and opening DVDFab YouTube to MP3 Downloader, you should see the following screen.
This is the main interface and the starting point to download your future MP3s.
Before we start downloading audio, adjust your settings if necessary. Click on the small arrow at the top right hand corner of the main interface and ‘Settings’ option as indicated in the screenshot below.
From here, you will be presented with the following options. Click on the folder indicated by the arrow to change where your saved audios will go.
You can also adjust the quality of your downloaded audios by clicking on the ‘Download Audio’ to get that quality (Best, 8K UHD-4320p, 4K UHD-2160p, Full HD-1080p, HD-720P, SD-480p, 360p, 240p and 144p) every time you download an audio. Or, leave it at the ‘Ask Me Each Time’ option to get a pop-up every time asking which quality you want once you want to download a MP3.
After your desired settings are set, click OK at the bottom to save.
To start downloading Youtube to MP3, DVDFab YouTube to MP3 Downloader presents a list of website options for you to download your mp3 from. Note that you still need an internet connection to access these websites.
From the main interface, click on the YouTube icon at the top left of your screen. You should see YouTube as it appears if you were accessing it from an Internet browser.
Click on or search for your desired audio and it should load as usual. Though, you will notice a yellow bar ‘Analyzing the video info…Please Wait’ at the top. Once this finishes, you are presented with three options as indicated in the screenshot below. Note that you can move this bar around by clicking and dragging to anywhere you want.
Hover your mouse over the ‘Download’ button and click on ‘Audio only’ to download the audio for this video. If you left your original settings to ‘Ask me each time’ for quality, a pop up will ask which quality you want. If you get the pop up, you can click ‘Remember my Choice’, it will remember your selection and adjust your settings to keep this download quality for future videos. Your audio is now being downloaded. To check the status, head over to ‘Downloads’ under the My Music section.
Your MP3 will appear in the ‘Downloading’ section as shown in the screenshot below. Right clicking on the audio can pause, resume, and delete the audio.
Once your audio finishes downloading, it will appear in the ‘Music’ section at the top left which you should see all of your downloaded audio shown in the screenshot below.
You can play your mp3 directly from DVDFab YouTube to MP3 Downloader. Head to the ‘Music’ section but don’t click on the name. Rather, go to the ‘Operate’ section highlighted with the red box to play, stop, add your audio to playlists (we’ll get to this later), and download the video for that audio. The three dots also give you more options in addition to the ones already mentioned.
Now we’ll go over basic functions of the MP3. First, if you want to open the audio so it’s full screen, click on the thumbnail as shown in the screenshot below. This will ‘open’ the audio and clicking it again will bring it back to the ‘Music’ section or whichever section you are in. The heart shaped icon and downward arrow in the green square serves two purposes: the heart directly adds the MP3 to your favorites (which we will get to later), and the downward arrow can download the online audio again to your selected directory. Again, you can check your download from the ‘Downloads’ tab under ‘My Music’ at the side. Adjust the audio playback speed ranging from 0.5x to 1.5x by clicking on the button in the blue square. To show your playlist, click on the button in the white square.
Below are functions similar to ones you see on regular videos. They also act in the same manner. Clicking on the shuffle button (in the red square) allows you to repeat all, single, plays videos in sequential order, or shuffle them. The function indicated with the yellow square replays the video from the beginning while the blue plays the next video. The stop/play button stops and plays the video; lastly, the sound indicated with the green button adjusts the volume.
Go full screen, minimize, expand, and exit the entire application using the controls above as shown in the screenshot below.
Download YouTube to MP3 does not only involve individual videos. You can download an entire playlist directly from DVDFab YouTube to MP3 Downloader. However, this only works if you have an existing playlist opened on YouTube. So, go ahead and open a playlist you want to download. Hover your mouse over to the ‘Download’ button at the top of the page, and you should see a new option: ‘Playlist’. Clicking this button and checking and unchecking boxes allows you to pick and choose which videos you want to download.
After selecting the entire playlist or specific songs, select the quality by selecting the white box beside ‘Quality.’ Once you’re happy with your options, press Download at the bottom right.
Your MP3(s) will start downloading from the ‘Downloading’ tab. After your playlist videos finish downloading, it will appear in the ‘Music’ tab, and you can play it like a normal MP3.
You can add audio from any video to your favorites and download it as a MP3 file. Hover your mouse over the ‘+Add to’ button displayed at the top left of your screen (indicated by the red arrow) and click the first option ‘Add to Favorite.’ This will automatically add the video to your ‘My Favorites’ under the ‘My Music’ tab (highlighted with a red box) as shown in screenshot below.
This automatically adds the audio of the video to your favorites. Again, to operate the MP3, you must use the functions underneath the ‘operate’ tab as mentioned previously. To download the audio file, press the three dots highlighted in the red square and click on ‘Download Audio’ to your selected directory.
If you want to create a playlist, click on the ‘+’ beside the Created Playlists tab shown in the screenshot below. Enter your playlist name, and now you have your first playlist.
The program will automatically recognize you are playing a playlist. To add audio to your newly created playlist, press the ‘+ Add to’ function at the top of a video and you should see an ‘Add to playlist’ accessible feature. Simply click on your playlist to add the audio. This directly adds the audio to your list. Also, keep in mind that you must use the functions in the ‘operate’ section beside the audio shown in step 6. Again, double clicking on the name won’t do anything.
By hovering your mouse over the ‘+Add to’ function and clicking on the ‘save playlist’ creates a playlist under ‘Saved Playlist’ at the side with all the songs in that playlist. In other words, you don’t get to pick and choose unless you choose to download.
The above steps are to download YouTube audio. You can also download audio from other streaming websites. Take a look at the screenshot below. The first difference you will notice is that only the ‘Download’ option is available.
Therefore, so far only YouTube audio can be added to playlists and favorites directly. Once you choose to download audio from a website other than YouTube, you must download the audio first. From there, head over to the ‘Music’ tab and click on the three dots underneath the ‘operate’ tab beside the audio file to add to existing playlists or create a new one completely.
Another tip is you can copy and paste URLs to search directly within DVDFab Downloader like in the screenshot below with any website. Press enter and your requested website will pop up to which you can download the audio file.
If you’re pressed for time, activate the ‘turbo speed’ feature to quicken your downloads.
