DVDFab DVD Ripper for Mac to PS3 mode
PS3, another milestone product released by Sony, has more followers, out of whom, many take it as their home theater, other than just a game player. DVDFab DVD Ripper for Mac introduces this PS converting mode for those PS3 guys to enjoy movies, maybe after an amazing game.
Now, follow this tutorial below to see how to make that happen on your Mac.
(Note: We use ISO file
1 > Start DVDFab for Mac and load the source:
1.1 Start DVDFab and navigate to DVD Ripper PS3 mode, then click the ISO disc icon right behind the source selecting box to load the ISO file you are going to convert;
Sidenote: If your source is original DVD disc, just insert it to your optical drive, DVDFab will access the disc upon loading; If your source is DVD folder from HDD, just click the yellow folder icon next to the disc icon to load.
1.2 After loading, choose the title (Main Title) you want to convert at the center, the audio track and subtitle stream at the upper and lower windows right on the main interface respectively; choose one location from your HDD to save the resulting video file and select one profile (Optional: play station 3) from the drop-down menu at bottom;
Sidenote: You can preview the title via the built-in video player at the bottom left corner before converting;
You can feel free to display forced subtitles or not. It’s up to you.
Additional option: Select the chapters you want to convert, in case you need just part of the movie, by clicking “Title Start/End Settings”
2 > Conversion Settings:
2.1 Device: The device is the PS3 you have chosen at the main interface in the first place. But the profile can be reset here by the dropdown menu. The “Set as default” button can make the profile you like as the pre-selected profile next time you use this PS3 mode.
2.2 Output format: Choose “Video+audio” to create a MP4 (h264+aac) video file;
2.3 File Type:
You can name the output video file, title to your own taste, and sign your name here as the author;
2.4 Video Format:
2.4.1 Two encoding methods, Fast encoding and High quality encoding, are available;
You can also define the bitrate for the output video or fix its size by type in a target number or by the sliding bar.
2.4.2 Split: decide whether to split the output video by chapter or not, considerate this function especially when your PS3 is running out of memory.
2.4.3 Framerate and Deinterlacing:
Select the correct framerate. Usually, you can let the system choose it for you.
Check the box of deinterlacing if you need this feature.
2.4.4 Frame resolution:
Frame resolution is flexible, you can choose one from the available ones or make your own at the conversion settings, resize page;
2.5 Audio format:
2.5.1 Audio bitrate: Select the correct bitrate. Usually, you can let the system choose it for you.
2.5.2 Audio Channel and Volume:
Choose the wanted channel and decide how to deal with the volume.
2.5.3 Subtitle rendering: PS3 mode only supports to render the subtitle directly to the output video file;
3 > Video Effect Settings:
Click “Video Effect Settings” button to open this window, where you can do following:
3.1 Click “Resize” to define the Source Aspect Ratio or customize your output size;
3.2 Click “Crop” to edit the displaying part of the output video at your will;
Sidenote: At the bottom left corner are the detailed information
“OK” this window and back to main interface.
4 > Start to convert:
Press the “Start” button to trigger the conversion process:
4.1 Trace the progress at this window, the detailed information will be included here, even the error code, if there is any;
4.2 Preview the processing progress visually;
4.3 You also have the option to shut down your PC automatically when the conversion is done
5 > End of the conversion task:
After a short while, you will see a popup window indicating “Process Completed Successfully”, “OK” it.
