The Heartbreak Kid

For a laugh, try The Heartbreak Kid, a romantic comedy from the Farrelly Brothers. It stars Ben Stiller, Jerry Stiller, Michelle Monaghan, and Malin Akerman. It is a fast-paced comedy with a light tone and a few interesting detours. Unfortunately, the film suffers from a few ideological pitfalls. Luckily, the film is still a good time.

The Heartbreak Kid is a loose remake of Neil Simon's 1972 film, and it looks good in a 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen presentation with Dolby Digital 5.1 sound. The fullscreen version, though, is more impressive than the DVD. The visuals are vibrant and the score is lively, including David Bowie songs. Although the Farrelly Brothers' discussion is less earnest, it does give a few insights into their creative process and their other films.

The Little Hours

The Little Hours is a raunchy comedy from director Jeff Baena. It stars Alison Brie, Aubrey Plaza, Kate Micucci, John C. Reilly, and Nick Offerman. The plot follows a young servant who escapes his abusive master and takes refuge in a convent of emotional unstable nuns. While the nuns struggle to resist temptation, the young servant must hold his cover and keep his master from finding out.

Although The Little Hours on Amazon Prime isn't perfect, it's a worthy choice if you love the classic novel. The debauchery is there, and the stakes are high, but the story remains lighthearted. It's not particularly transgressive, but its gimmicks are enough to satisfy the fanatics. While it isn't the most moving film on Amazon Prime, the extra features are fun for fans and newcomers alike. For example, you'll be able to watch a live reading of "The Little Hours" by Aubrey Plaza and other characters.

Moonstruck

If you want to watch an old-school romantic comedy on your television without spending a lot of money, try Moonstruck. Starring Cher and Nicolas Cage, this movie is both funny and heartwarming. Plus, it's free! If you're looking for some romantic movies to watch on your couch this Valentine's Day, Moonstruck is a great choice. There are dozens of romantic comedies available on streaming services, so you'll have plenty to choose from.

A bout de souffle is another good choice for Valentine's Day. This remake of a Jean-Luc Godard classic stars a young Richard Gere as a bad boy. This romantic comedy is full of '80s nostalgia and an original Adam Sandler song. The actors play their characters with a mixture of clownishness and sliminess. You'll feel the '80s vibes in this one, as the two are both incredibly romantic and appreciative of the love they share.

While Amazon Prime may not have the widest selection of romantic comedies, you won't find them all here. Moonstruck, "Sugar Rush," and "Big Sick" are a few other romantic comedies on Amazon Prime that are worth checking out. These comedies are not only fun to watch, but they are also funny, which makes them a perfect choice for romantic nights in bed.

"His Girl Friday" is a racy, naturalistic romp that defies all conventions and standards of decency. Filming began in September 1939 and ended in November. The film's frequent improvisations resulted in many retakes, but Hawks' encouragement of the actors' improvisational behavior led to an engaging storyline that won't bore. Hawks emphasized "let-'er-rip" spirit and encouraged the actors to get aggressive and spontaneous with each other.

"His Girl Friday" is based on the hit Broadway play "The Front Page," by Ben Hecht and Charles MacArthur. The cast includes Cary Grant, Rosalind Russell, and Ralph Bellamy. The plot revolves around a married couple, Walter and Hildy Johnson, who agree to cover one last story before Hildy is forced to marry someone else.
