If the source is a DVD folder or ISO file, you can click the “+” button on the main interface or the “+ Add” icon next to the profile library to load it. If the source is a DVD disc, DVDFab will analyze the DVD disc automatically after you insert it to your optical drive.
Step 2: Choose the device
After the source is loaded in, you can go to the profile library at the top left corner to choose the device you want. There are many different device presets available, including Apple devices like iPad Pro, iPhone 6/7/8/10, Apple TV, etc., Samsung smartphones like Galaxy S9/S9+, Galaxy Tab S4, etc., HUAWEI phones like Mate 20, Mate X, P20, Nova 4, etc., game consoles like Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, etc. Here we choose to rip the DVD to iPad.

When the DVD source is loaded in, the main movie title will be selected by default. So if you also want to rip other titles, please remember click the “Choose Other Titles” to choose all the titles you need. On the left of the option, you can choose the video quality you want.
Some other contents of the DVD movie are also selectable or editable. You can change the title name, select the chapters you want to keep, and check the audio tracks and subtitles you need. At the Subtitle part, you even can add external subtitles. The steps to transfer the video to an iPad Pro are same. After the transfer is complete, you can find the video at Photos (Gallery) of your device.
Usually if you already choose a device profile at the profile library, you do not have to change the settings on Advanced Settings panel, because DVDFab would make the parameters like resolution, codec and more fit your device well. But you can also customize your settings according to your needs.
There are many parameters about the video and audio. At the “Video” part, you can choose the codec, Frame rate, Resolution, Encoding Method and more. And at the “Audio” part, you can change the Codec, Sample Rate, Channels, Bit Rate and Volume. If you do not know much about these parameters, you can leave them alone. The default settings would satisfy your needs.

If you choose “Direct render to video”, the subtitles will be burned into the image on the video pictures and cannot be turned on/off. If your option is “Remux into file”, the subtitles will be included in the video file and should be able to be turned on/off on a player.
