Die Hard
The first Die Hard movie has become the benchmark for the genre and continues to draw in new viewers every year. This new edition of the film features enhanced gore content with CGI blood splatter and pink Klingon blood. Its simplicity and timeless quality make it an essential addition to any action movie collection. You can now watch the original film in high definition on a DVD. Here's what to expect:
The 25th anniversary of the original Die Hard movie franchise is now available on Blu-ray and DVD. The 25th anniversary edition bundles the first four films in the Die Hard action series, which is part of the Twentieth Century Fox film franchise. The franchise centers on Bruce Willis as a ruthless vigilante. The DVD release of all four films is available on May 15th. Watch them back-to-back to see why the Die Hard series is still so vital today.
In this action movie, NYPD officer John McClane tries to save hostages from German terrorists who have taken them during a Christmas party at the Nakatomi Plaza in Los Angeles. The movie has been rated 4.0 by Greg Maltz, who wrote a review of it on February 15th. A critic who reviewed the film on DVD gave it a 4.0 rating. However, Die Hard fans may want to reconsider this decision.
Die Hard 2
If you enjoyed Die Hard, you'll enjoy Die Hard 2. It's the sequel to the acclaimed film that launched the career of Bruce Willis. Featuring Reginald Vel Johnson as LAPD officer John McClane, William Atherton as opportunist reporter Eric Winter, and Dennis Franz as the head of the airport police, Die Hard 2 follows a similar storyline. The film's suspenseful final explosion, which climaxes the film, makes you want to watch it over.
Although Die Hard 2 is a sequel to the first movie, the original film remains the benchmark of action movies. It has continued to attract new fans every year and is considered a classic in its own right. If you're planning to watch it, consider investing in Die Hard 2 on DVD. It's much cheaper than purchasing all three discs separately. Besides, it also includes some bonus material, such as a set of 1080p trailers. In addition, the DVDs also include D-Box codes for the two sequels.
When watching Die Hard 2 on DVD, you can enjoy deleted and extended scenes, making of information, and behind-the-scenes footage. The DVD contains a 23-minute promotional trailer and a making of the film. Other bonus features include Chaos on a Conveyor Belt, a short look at a memorable sequence, and six minutes with Renny Harlin. The bonus content will definitely keep you entertained for hours.
Men in Black
In Men in Black new action movies on DVD, Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones play top-secret agents working for MIB, a top-secret organization that keeps track of alien activity on Earth. However, they are caught in the middle of a deadly plot by an intergalactic terrorist (Vincent D'Onofrio). The interloper is out for blood and plans to kill two ambassadors from opposing galaxies. It is up to K and J to stop him or else Earth will be destroyed. The men must work together to find the interloper and stop him before it is too late.
Men in Black is a 1997 science fiction action comedy film directed by Barry Sonnenfeld and written by Ed Solomon. It is based on the Marvel comic book series of the same name. Jones plays an extraterrestrial superspy who supervises human life forms on Earth. In addition to Tommy Lee Jones, the film featured Rick Baker and Industrial Light & Magic. The original movie soundtrack contains a Will Smith original song "Men in Black."
Another blockbuster from 2008, American assassins is based on the J.G. Jones and Mark Millar graphic novels. James McAvoy plays a seemingly ordinary man who discovers that he is part of a bloodline of professional assassins. The film also stars Morgan Freeman, Angelina Jolie, Terence Stamp, and Common. The cast is a mixture of classic and contemporary actors.
Men in Black 3
If you enjoyed Men in Black 2 and want to watch it again, you can now get a combo pack featuring DVD, Blu-ray, and Ultraviolet Digital Copy. The DVD includes a special feature called Partners in Time: The Making of MIB 3 with interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, recycled scenes, and new cast members. It also includes blasphemy and some profanity.
If you're not familiar with the series, it isn't hard to figure out why this film is a fan favorite. The main character, Agent J, returns, but this time he has some competition in the form of Agent K. His partnership with Laura has been on the rocks, but when she falls in love with Agent J, he steps in to save the day. The plot takes an unexpected turn and a surprise twist is sure to make you laugh.
The DVD also includes the game "Partners in Time," a gag reel, and a Pitbull music video. While the movie is better on Blu-ray, the disc's extras are less impressive. Still, you'll enjoy the movie, and don't feel compelled to upgrade if you already own the movie. Just be prepared for it to be a little slow. It is also prone to freezing on you.
Mission: Impossible
If you haven't seen any of the Mission: Impossible movies yet, you are in for a real treat. The latest movie in the series is Mission: Impossible - Fallout, which is one of the best reviewed movies of the year, with a 97% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The DVD features over an hour of bonus content, including deleted scenes, behind-the-scenes footage, and a director's commentary. If you're looking for an action movie to watch on DVD, this is the way to go.
The latest entry in the Mission: Impossible series is a highly entertaining movie, which is better than many other big action movies this year. The Blu-ray combo pack from Paramount doesn't disappoint either. The movie is accompanied by commentary, behind-the-scenes featurettes, and first-rate picture and sound. There's no way to not enjoy this movie. This is one of the few action movies on DVD that you should own.
Mission: Impossible: Rogue Nation is another exciting adventure, full of action and adventure. Tom Cruise plays Ethan Hunt, a member of the Impossible Missions Force. Sadly, the CIA director doesn't approve, and the team is disbanded. In addition, the claims made by the Impossible Missions Force about The Syndicate are ridiculed by the director. William Brandt, the disapproving CIA director, is a key figure in the film, but the movies don't have the ensemble cast of the TV series. In the film, the main characters are Hunt, Luther Stickell (Ving Rhames), and Benji Dunn (Simon Pegg).
True Lies
The director of the hit James Cameron action movies, James Cameron, gives us his latest flick, "True Lies." In this movie, Arnold Schwarzenegger plays CIA agent Harry Tasker, who is married to Jamie Lee Curtis and has a daughter named Eliza. The story revolves around Tasker's assignment to catch a mad Islamic terrorist who is planning to set off nuclear warheads on U.S. soil. In addition to his duties, Tasker has a complicated relationship with his wife Helen and feels that she is cheating on him. Luckily, though, he has a great chemistry with Tom Arnold and the two actors give a terrific performance.
While the plot is predictable, True Lies has several unique qualities. For starters, it's one of the most action-packed movies in recent memory. No Bond movie has been able to pull off such an incredible sequence - Harry commandeers a police officer's horse to chase Aziz. In a few breathtaking sequences, Harry uses the weight of practical effects with the absurdity of the situation.
James Cameron's films have a lot of hype, and this movie has gotten plenty of buzz. While it's true that the movie is quite good, many people haven't been able to watch it yet. For this reason, I'd suggest getting it now so you can enjoy it right away. There are plenty of new action movies on DVD, so why not give it a try? You'll be glad you did!
