Animated CGI

The animated CGI movie, Alita: Battle Angel, has a lot to offer. The story of the titular warrior is based on the popular manga series of the same name. Director Robert Rodriguez brought the story to life with a script written by James Cameron nearly 20 years ago. However, Cameron had to dedicate himself to the Avatar franchise before his script was ready to be produced. Then he brought in director Robert Rodriguez to help him rewrite the script. The result is a film that combines veteran acting talent with motion and performance-capture technology to create a believable CG heroine.

The movie was originally announced in 2003 but was repeatedly postponed due to James Cameron's Avatar project. Production of the film was resumed in April 2016 when Rodriguez was announced as the director and actress Rosa Salazar was cast. While the movie was critically panned, it surpassed expectations at the box office.

Aside from the film's visuals, the Alita: Battle Angel Blu-ray features a number of extra features. Among them are a number of featurettes that explore the world of the character in detail. The film's soundtrack is also played in Dolby Atmos. Although the movie is too faithful to its Manga source material, Alita: Battle Angel is still an action-packed sci-fi feature. It has thunderous audio mixes and a few interesting bonus features.

On the DVD, the movie's special features include 'From Manga to Screen' and 'Evolution of Alita'. These two documentaries offer insight into how the film's characters came to be. The film also features interviews with the director James Cameron and the cast.

Dolby Vision

Alita: Battle Angel is coming to Blu-ray and digital on July 9 and July 23. This sci-fi adventure is based on the manga series by Yukito Kishiro. It features reference-quality Ultra HD video and Dolby Atmos immersive audio and includes fan-friendly supplemental sets.

Alita: Battle Angel will be available in HDR10, Dolby Vision, and French DTS. It is also available in widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio. It's not a particularly visually stunning film, but the Ultra HD presentation looks very faithful to the original film. It is also a significant improvement over the Blu-ray release.

Alita: Battle Angel's color palette is slightly more vibrant and nuanced with a touch of orange and pink. The purple feathered collar worn by Chireen looks more vibrant in 4K. The movie's love scene also seems to pop more.

Alita: Battle Angel also comes with a Dolby Atmos soundtrack and 7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio. The audio is fantastic, and the surrounds and overheads are filled with detail. The film's Motorball battles are especially intense and involving. The Dolby Atmos soundtrack is beautifully balanced and makes the film more immersive.

Alita: Battle Angel is also available on 3D Blu-ray. The new format gives the Iron City a real sense of depth. The small scratches and engravings on Alita's porcelain-like body become much more noticeable. As a result, Alita: Battle Angel is a true spex attraction.

Alita: Battle Angel will look even more gorgeous on 4K Blu-ray. Unlike HD Blu-ray, 4K Blu-ray features HDR10+ and Dolby Vision for better picture quality.

4K UHD version

The 4K UHD version of Alita Battle Angel features both live action and computer rendered elements. The picture is extremely detailed and offers an intense Dolby Atmos soundtrack. As expected from a James Cameron movie, the film also offers exclusive digital extras.

The film is also available in HDR10 and Dolby Vision formats. The movie also has a two-disc case. The Blu-ray comes with both a region-free and region-locked disc. The movie unlocks 4K Dolby Vision on VUDU and includes several digital-only bonus features.

The movie has been acclaimed for its innovative visual style and high-quality performances. Robert Rodriguez and James Cameron have crafted a fantastic feature film adaptation. The film features IMAX 3D technology, which allows viewers to see the movie from a new perspective. The action and special effects in the film are impressive, and the acting is top-notch.

The movie looks even more stunning than its HD Blu-ray counterpart. Its enriched color work makes the film feel more realistic. Alita's environment is much more vivid and vibrant. The movie also features HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, which improve picture quality.

Alita battles various enemies in the Iron City, including a deadly Hunter-Warrior named Zapan. While Zapan is more powerful than most people realize, he is outmatched by his own vanity. The Damascus Blade is the weapon of choice for Zapan, which the film's director, Robert Rodriguez, gifted to Ed Skrein on the wrap.

The Alita Battle Angel Blu-ray features enhanced color work and more realistic image quality. The film is being released on 4K Blu-ray for the first time, and it is a better choice than HD Blu-ray. The movie looks incredibly rich and vibrant, and 4K Blu-ray includes Dolby Vision and HDR10+ to further enhance the picture quality.

Review

Alita: Battle Angel is available on Blu-ray in the US and UK. The new disc uses a 3840 x 2160p resolution with a 2.39:1 aspect ratio and features HDR10 and Dolby Vision. The movie's audio also boasts Dolby Atmos. This release is also enhanced with exclusive digital extras.

Alita: Battle Angel is a beautifully photographed film. Its Fox Blu-ray captures every nuance of the expressionistic lighting, from the glowing amber of the protagonist's shop to the neon-strewn streets of Iron City. Detail is outstanding and the sound is faultless. Action scenes make heavy use of the subwoofer, and sound effects are frequently spread across multiple channels.

Alita's flesh-tones are very accurate. While the film's original Blu-ray is already a solid performer, the enhanced version offers deeper shadows and more vibrant primary colors. The film's contrast is also improved. And a bonus: the 3D version is included.

Alita: Battle Angel also includes an excellent DVD-ROM with solid special features. A two-hour featurette and a Q&A session with the filmmakers add depth to the experience and enhance the immersion. In addition, the Blu-ray disc contains a collection of 2005 concept art. James Cameron even provides commentary.

Alita is a visually stunning film, but it's more than that. It's also emotionally engaging and genuinely human. I was moved by the story of Alita's journey, which combines heart, emotion, and humor to make the story a truly memorable one.

Alita: Battle Angel starts out with the protagonist (Christoph Waltz) discovering the remains of a cyborg. But she doesn't know her own identity. Her human caregiver (Doctor Ido) quickly realizes that she's a young woman with a unique history.
