DVDFab 12 Review: The Leading Software for Managing DVDs and Blu-rays

DVDFab 12 was one of DVDFab's major versions, combining disc copy, ripping, creation, video conversion, and several disc-related tools in one desktop program. It is still available from the official DVDFab Download Center, so users who already rely on DVDFab 12 can continue using it for supported DVD, Blu-ray, UHD, and video tasks.

However, DVDFab has since moved to DVDFab 13 as its current main version. In this DVDFab 12 review, I will focus on what DVDFab 12 can still do, how to safely download the official DVDFab 12 version, and how it compares with DVDFab 13.

How to Download and Use DVDFab 12

For copy mode, you will be able to select the output DVD size (DVD-9 or DVD-5). Next define the volume label and customize other copy options. You can also select the audio and subtitle tracks that you want to keep.

For Ripper choose one profile and customize the options. Choose video and audio parameters as well as subtitles. You can also upscale video by "Enlarger AI".

For creator, click on wrench icon. Here you can select the target disc type, output size and quality, and video format. You can also customize menu and chapter settings here.

For the converter, click on the wrench icon and personalize the output blu-ray. You can also customize titles, chapters, video and audio parameters as well as subtitles here.

Step 4: Start to Process Your Discs or Videos

After configuring all settings, click the Start button to begin the process. Once finished, your perfectly copied, compressed, converted, or created disc/file will be ready to use. In this progress, you can monitor the process completion in the Task Queue window.

Archived Task is the place where all the task information of your last operation is saved, including your detailed custom settings. Modernized user interface

Improved UHD drive support

Recent DVDFab 13 updates added broader Pioneer Blu-ray drive support. UHD Drive Tool can now support selected Pioneer drives by matching and flashing compatible firmware, helping users unlock UHD Blu-ray reading for supported Copy and Ripper workflows.

Expanded format and output support

DVDFab 13 added AV1 output support for MP4/MKV in the Ripper module. Depending on the source and hardware, it supports AV1 SDR, 4K AV1 HDR10, and UHD AV1 HDR10 output.
